I am fixing the bike rack onto rear wall of my Chausson,using sikaflex, my local dealer advised that I can use “brake cleaner” to remove excess sikaflex prior to it curing, can anyone confirm this is a viable cleaning agent and that it will not affect paint surface?

Skim off the excess with a plastic scraper then use meths to remove the residue. Works ok for me.

just use masking tape and peel it off afterwards, much easier
