As merlin says, best to keep it simple for DVLA. It apears that any covering letters seem to produce delays.
Also note that it is not a requirement that it be changed. My insurers were not interested in the clasification on the reg doc. So if you think sending it of may delay your using the van, it might not be neccissary untill a more conveinient time.
