Hi all

Nearly finished my conversion--- ldv convoy van to campervan the question is do I send send of my log book to dvla to get it changed to a campervan any info please

As merlin says, best to keep it simple for DVLA. It apears that any covering letters seem to produce delays.

Also note that it is not a requirement that it be changed.  My insurers were not interested in the clasification on the reg doc.  So if you think sending it of may delay your using the van, it might not be neccissary untill a more conveinient time.

Hi Tileman 73 here------- I use the van every day to work and I thought you had to change it to a campervan I better contact insurers about change of use??????????

Ours is still registered as a panel van, we were told its there is no need to change it.

But the insurance would be three times as much for a van as a motorhome

we have it insured as motorhome

Yes just send the reg. document off to DVLA stating it's now a camper and they will change the reg doc and the insurers will be happy.

I had cheaper insurance because of this.

 Was at caravan site at Abbington and spoke to a guy who had a brand new Ford camper van and it had panel van on the log book he is going to send log book away to get changed.                                                                                                                   O
