I have a 1990 Foster and Day Motorhome and I need to replace the locking petrol cap. My husband can open and lock it but the knack deludes me. grrrrr so I need another one. Any idea where I might get on. Cannot seem to find one anywhere. Ta Leigh
Just get the locking cap in one hand, put the key in and have a look at the reverse to see how the locking mechanism works. You can then work it out how it actually locks in or identify if the locking mechanism has broken. Buying a new one may leave you with the same dilemma.
It doesn't depend on the conversion, but on the base vehicle. I would take the existing one to a good accessory shop or commercial dealer for the vehicle make.

I thought all locking caps were the same! But I agree with tango55 (I'd add a stiff drink or mug of tea to the mix): play around with the cap & key and understand the simple mechanism, or else the new cap won't work either.
Just as a matter of interest, many years ago an acquaintance of mine lost his locking petrol cap. He went to a local filling station and was shown a large box of caps that customers had left behind.
Been there, done that Ancient Uncle. Realised that I had left mine on the bumper so went back to garage. No sign of mine but I couldn't believe the size of the box full that he had. Must have been 50 or 60 and actually found a Land Rover one.
