Hi folks, our local dealer was expecting some motorhomes in at the end of July, the date has been postponed fortnightly and the next date given is mid October, has anyone else had a similar experience? Thanks in advance 😊

No, but it’s happening for new car sales. Caused by a shortage of electronic chips, or so we were recently told by Škoda.

Oh thanks, I realise there is shortages of everything with the driver issue but the dealer didn’t know what has caused the delay 😊

We had this earlier this year, we ordered our current motorhome from a dealer, it had been pre-ordered as showroom stock before we'd agreed to buy it, we placed our order in March, the motorhome was supposed to be delivered in April, we finally took delivery in mid-June.

The delays were due to a number of parts shortfalls, this is a big problem worldwide. When we took delivery, the reversing camera wasn't working, the replacement was supposed to come the next month and then the next, it was finally fitted last week.

Don't feel too aggrieved, I spoke to friends of ours who've ordered a Chausson motorhome, they're expecting delivery no sooner than August next year!

Thanks for your reply, not too worried as I think we will have less use over winter & it means the warranties will last longer, the lack of communication and information from the dealer worries me more! I guess it’s just how it is at the moment!

Picked up our new Adria caravan at the weekend and the dealer was telling me that Adria have more or less turned off the campervan / motorhome production line as Fiat can't supply the new vehicles.

The upside of this is a transfer of labour to the caravan line with increased production. All good said the dealer as it means some people will get their caravans this year not next.

That’s interesting and good for caravanners, strange times. I hope you are thrilled with your Adria, we received ours on November the 1st, a few snags but lovely to have it!

We went from a year and a half old Isonzo to a Mississippi, it is a whole new level of lovleyness.

No faults so far, but mind you never had any in the Isonzo.
