Hi

I found that the blue connector (cold Water) for the Truma water heater is leaking. I've tried tightening but still drips away, so I wish to replace the blue elbow and internal parts.

I can see that it look like its just a push-fit to connect the new elbow onto the end of the pipe, but how can I remove the old one? Is it by simply cutting off the end of the pipe? (Not sure there is much slack and don't want to end up with pipe tight to too short), or is there a way to get the internal clip to retract so I can pull the pipe out of the old elbow?

I think they are John Guest fittings? There is ring that you should be able to push back into the larger pipe which should release the smaller pipe. If it is dripping I wonder if there is some grit on the pipe which is causing it? You may need something to push the ring in to release the pipe, perhaps a large bladed screwdriver?

If you Google how to fit and remove plastic pipe fittings you can find out that way plus there are video's on YouTube showing you how to do it as well. It's hard to explain how to proceed if you've never done it before so a video is the best way to find out.

Agree. There are YouTube videos about fitting a water heater as part of a campervan conversion, you’d see the connections.
Hope you get sorted.
