Looking for advice on where would be the best place to sell a motorhome that needs work.
A couple of dealers have offered very low prices but it could be a nice project for a knowledgable enthusiast.
Unsure the best place to advertise which would attract people who would know what they were doing. Ebay, gumtree etc seem a little too generic and wouldn’t want to mislead anyone.
Certainly not a dealer. Facebook Marketplace sells all sorts. All you have to be is honest with lots of photos. It is also free. Ebay will be full of chancers wanting it for nothing. Gumtree never seems to do much for me.
Does it drive ? Is it road legal ? Put it on eBay with an exact description on what it is. A good set of pictures & invite inspections during auction. Put your phone no. on listing & be prepared to take calls. State on your listing that there is no buy it now price & auction will run to end whereupon buyer will collect & pay full bid price with no haggling. Ignore all messages of cash offers during auction. That’s how I have always done it & it has been ok.

you are not allowed to have your phone number in the advert, this is to stop sale taking place outside of ebay and then not getting any fees
Plenty of phone numbers on eBay caravan listings right now. If you want to sell it outside eBay then you can be messaged from the listing anyway & go from there. If you sell it cash during auction then just cancel listing. I have always found though with caravans allowing auction to run to end realises a better price than any cash offers received during auction.
Thanks for your replies and suggestions. It is working fine, though currently on a SORN. The problems are with damp and would probably require a lot of work, stripping it back. We have only just found this out. Inside is in very good condition and it drives well.
I tend to avoid Ebay for large items as generally it always turns into more hassle than it’s worth for small items, so it’s good to hear positive reports.
It always surprises me just how bad some eBay listings are. Sellers are not giving themselves a chance. On contact they often seem unable to answer questions about weight & dimensions that they should have included in the listing anyway. A full set of good pictures with a good & honest description properly composed & presented is all that is required ime.
I have heard excellent reports of sales through the free ads on this site, as having looked there, there are some great bargains to be had.
Looking at the FREE ads on the free ads here, I have noticed a Swift Bolero Motorhome with very low mileage, hence little used at a very competitive price, even with a load of expensive extras already fitted.
As it's FREE to advertise, I would have thought that this would have been the best place to start.
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
