Sadly, due to ill health we are no longer able to take off for months on end in the summer. Roaming round Europe and stopping when we felt like it and moving on when we had had enough.
We have some wonderful memories of our escapades. Whether in France, Germany, Austria, Italy or somewhere in UK we have had some wonderful adventures.
Parked on a lakeside with the nose sloping down towards the lake. We arrived late and just couldn’t be bothered with the levellers.
Neither of us slept much that night. The image of waking up to water seeping into the cab! 😱 Next night we went to sleep with levellers in place under the front wheels, chocks under the back wheels, first gear and hand break fully on! Slept so soundly once we stopped Giggling 😂
Just getting the old girl ready for selling. Didn’t think we had so much stuff in her. Whoever buys her will get a ‘turn key’ mobile holiday home with everything you could want or need. Even a telly! All they need to do is pack their clothes and fill the fridge and the are off.
It’s been fun while it lasted but now we are on to the next chapter of our lives and make as much of it as we can.

It’s always a very sad time when we have to give up something we really love.
The old adage of ” old age does not come alone “ is very true.
I belong to a motorcycle club and I am one of a dying breed who still uses a tent but I have really bad arthritis and gave up actual motorcycling because of it and now have a maxi scooter.
My eldest granddaughter is nearly twenty and I am a pup in our club, the vast majority of whom now attend our rallies in motor homes or camper vans.
Then there are those (and they are rising rapidly in number ) who also have had to give up the van because of ill health. For some of them though they are still able to pop by and have a good chin wag and a brew and meet up with old friends.
Nobody gets “ camping” except campers just like nobody gets “motorcycling “ except motorcyclists.
The freedom of the road and the wanderlust to explore new places is overwhelming but at least you have done it and can look back with extremely fond memories instead of saying “ oh I wish I had done this or done that instead of being a couch potato with a TV remote in my hand “ too late !

It must have been a very difficult decision for you, but as my dad used to say, "They can't take away what you've already had". You've obviously got many, many great memories of your motorhoming adventures.
