I have a Motorhome based on the Peugeot Boxer, and a Skoda Octavia SE TDI 105, 1598cc Diesel (Which has ZERO Road Tax!)
Instead of having TWO Vehicles, I would prefer to have just ONE Vehicle.
Can you Experts know Which vehicle would be great for Camping, But would also be great for a vehicle as a daily runabout? - Petrol or diesel
(But Not Electric) - Not too big - Very good mpg - Cheap insurance - Cheap road Tax - Colour White or Silver - A sliding side door (So I can get my Dog INTO it, She is a rescue from Romania, and I think my Motorhome is probably similar to the vehicle, in which she was transported on the long, gruelling journey across Europe, and over the Channel to the UK ! (She won't get in the Boxer)
Please suggest the perfect Vehicle - thanks

We have a VW Transporter conversion that OH uses as an everyday vehicle. It goes under most barriers, parks in a car space. Our previous one was white, many are. Slides door etc.

You’ve specified everything except your budget.
A work colleague used a Mazda Bongo as the family car & a campervan that was a bit cramped for the family but I think the vehicle is for you (solo) plus dog.

We had a Mazda Bongo as our only vehicle. We didn't use it for camping but it was great for days out and just for general running about. I used it to commute to work back then too, as it fitted in normal car park bays. One of the biggest attractions was that it was half the price of the VW that I was originally looking for. Having driven both I actually preferred it too.

Most manufacturers produce a range of vans from Berlingo size up to the large VW vans with sliding doors. The campervan and motorhome show at Newbury last weekend had more van conversion campers than motorhomes and would have been a good place to get some ideas.

You have to bear in mind the size of parking spaces, the standard space is usually 5m long, and height restrictions are usually, but not always, 2m for car parks and supermarkets etc. I remember that Reading was bad for height restrictions and most supermarkets would have been inaccessible for our Transit. Autotrader is useful for checking van dimensions.

All the options will be limited by your budget and availability.

I would also say a Mazda Bongo. We use our 2.5 diesel one as an everyday vehicle as well as a camper. It is an extremely practical vehicle and very nice to drive. It is not massively economical around town, giving around mid-high 20's mpg but out of town low-mid 30's mpg is usual, much better than my Land rover's 12-22 mpg. It can be cramped for 2 adults, especially as we also have 2 small dogs but we have a drive-away awning that we actually sleep in and use the van as a kitchen and storage and we have found that is fine for at least a weeks camping. If you do go for a Bongo, I would suggest the 2.5 diesel. The 2.0 petrol is both less powerful and less economical (petrol 105 bhp, diesel 130 bhp) than the diesel, and the 2.5 petrol (160 bhp) though more powerful than the diesel is a lot less economical.

A mate of mine had a Romahome with a drive away awning at the rear.
I used to laugh at them but I was quite shocked about how well they were planned out.
The beauty of the drive away awning is the extra space it gives you and of course the joy of having a car too all in one.

The Romahome R30 or the earlier 'Dimension' have 4 belted seats that fold down to two beds. Only 5 mtrs long but they are well designed and fully equipped. They are cheap to insure, but with a 2.2 ltr diesel, you get hammered for tax. However they're pretty economical - I get 35 to 38 mpg.
