A quick search of the site doesn't bring up any answers for me, so here goes:

I have a Kampa coolbox at the moment that runs off 12v.
I want (for looks as mch as anything else) a mini fridge.

Do I choose absorption or compressor?
Do I power with gas or 12v

How power-hungry are the different types - I can fit a spare small gas cylinder or upgrade the leisure battery to something beefier if need be and I'm not looking at price as the main criteria.

So... Your advice and experience most welcome.
If the answer is gas, then are there instructions anywhere on where/how to install a vent?

Thanks

There will be installation instructions with the fridge. Be aware that you must not travel with a live appliance, so you may need to rethink being gas only. !2 volt is only from the engine whilst travelling. 240 volt is for use with mains on a site.

Personally I would go for a 12v compressor fridge, running from leisure battery with solar panel to keep things going. Incredibly frugal on the juice, I can run mine for days ( weeks ) on end

Thanks. I had thought maybe a 3-way with the fridge running off the leisure battery whilst in transit and swapping over to LPG once I've stopped as I've heard they are very cheap to run that way...

I would have recommended a 3 way fridge, but if you don't have gas installed and you would also have to install a 12V circuit which was only live with the engine running, I'd go for a compressor fridge as the easiest option.

Two drifters off to see the world.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.

I have Just Purchased Anker Everfrost 40L and I must say I am very impressed with it. I got it for its ability to run off its own battery. I have an EV car and did not want to run it off the Car's power whilst travelling, particularly when I go to Spain, and on a 24 hour ferry Crossing.

Cheers
Nathan
