Hi everyone, i have a carver 2 water heater, i have had to change the fusible plug a number of times because it keeps blowing, can anyone tell me if this is due to the thermostat, i have purchased 1 (70%) and wonder if anyone can tell me where its situated on the actual heater and if you think the thermostat is the cause please, thank you all for any help you can give me.
It's one of those electrical problems that nobody can give a definitive answer to without conducting some tests to trace the underlying fault. I appears that you know little about electrical circuits like myself so my advice would be to contact a service engineer who can then trace the fault and undertake the repair required. Just changing parts intermittently to eliminate the fault can quite often cost more in the long term.
Tango 55, thank you for taking the time to reply, your 100% correct when you say i know nothing about the electrical circuits 👍, i had an epiphany after changing the fusible plug afyer each trip away and just thought, maybe the thermostat needs to be changed, on reading your reply iv come to the conclusion, iv been wrong about so many other things in life, il probably be wrong about this 🤣, il start looking for someone local who may be able to do a little service on the water heater which, will probably be cheaper than replacing the £26.00 fusible plug every other week🤣 once again thank you for the info 👍
