I have just bought a couple of e-bikes and because of the weight (44 kilos), my Fiamma rear door mounted bike rack is sadly not up to the task, it is rated at 35 kilos. I am looking to fit a tow bar onto my Adria Twin PVC and then buy a rack that fits on to that. Anyone have any experience or preferences for which to go for?
Check whether taking the batteries off brings the bikes’ weight down enough; if it does, carry the batteries inside the van (hoping they don’t go on fire, of course: maybe the tow bar is better for that reason alone.)

Slightly longer wheel trays to take longer wheelbase (1300mm)
Wheel trays are 25cm apart, so not as tight together as some.

2 x wide handled Dutch style e bikes (loaded nose to tail) and associated plug-in chain locks (x2) and heavy D Locks (x2) take it to its load limit!
Batteries and panniers etc go in the boot!
It’s a beauty, but with a price tag to match. It’s also a little heavy and cumbersome to carry (eg from rear garden shed to front driveway, in my case) but manageable.
It’s also a tipper-upper, which I needed for my mpv tailgate.
Currently in use on its 3rd trip to mainland Europe, and I thoroughly recommend it! 👍
I too have an e-bike. I just travel with it in the van, (and I am sure there would be room for a second)
Once parked, bike is outside with cover and padlocked to towbar for security. Hope this helps?
I recently purchased a Thule ER940 on ebay for 80 quid. I didn`t know until I got it home it was rated at 35 kgs (our two `leccy bikes without batteries weigh in at 39 kgs combined) but as I weigh nearly three time that and can bounce about on it (TBH it`s so well made it could probably take a couple of `me`) I didn`t have any worries about using it, and it has been more than adequate.
You don`t need to spend mega-bucks to get a decent rack.

I'd have thought that's all fine and dandy, until someone has a sudden urge to look into said ratings and weight of the bikes.
I'm thinking roadside spot checks (Extremely rare) and insurance assessors following an accident/claim (Not so rare)!
