I thought this might come in handy if we are not on electric hook up. The auto electrician, attached our fridge and other 12v items to the leisure battery and when the van is driven it charges the battery as does the electric hook up.
I thought about getting a flexible solar panel and fitting it to the roof so it can charge the power station.
Can anyone tell me if this would be ok? do you know if these are noisy? I would appreciate and help. Thanks in advance.
We have a similar one, not that make. Won it at a UKCS advent calendar. Silent but extremely heavy, so check the weight of the one you’re considering: the delivery man struggled to lift ours. It lives in the garage & powers tools etc.
Can’t speak for using a solar panel to recharge it, ours gets plugged in & charged up at the beginning of the year.
Hi, Maybe a dvd player, travel hairdryer, hair straightners, charging mobiles. Our tv is 12v and fridge runs off 12v too.
If I buy this power station, we could manage charging this at home and using it on a weekend away, without having to use a hook up.

Fridge runs off 12v only when the vehicle engine is running. When the engine is switched off, the fridge runs off EHU or gas. Or that’s how ours works.

A hairdryer or hair straighteners will flatten the battery in no time, as will any heat producing items.
Mobile phones use very little power and can be charged from the battery using a car charger.

A lot of vans have 12v compressor fridges now. Run on 12v all the time.
Work really well. Most have freezer section too. I had a portable 3-way.
Prefer my compressor.
I'll be looking to running a power bank next year & thinking of getting an internal connector added so we can plug ehu into it as a backup. Our new van is bit more power hungry than old van so we'll be gauging power needs for fitting offgrid upgrade next year.
I have a 2000wh portable power station and 300w of solar panels on the roof. Flexible ones don’t last as long as rigid ones as the metal roof heats up the panels which can damage them and they will become less efficient quicker. You can use corrugated plastic sheets under the panel to help with the heat situation and help it last longer. Having the power station will give you more freedom to use more things so if you think it will work for you then I’d say go for it. Worst thing that could happen is you don’t use it often
