A very slow water leak had developed towards the end of last year in the pipework for the toilet. I tightened the jubilee clips and it appeared to have stopped it.
Since the tank was drained over winter, the leak had stopped completely.
However, it started again when the tank was filled up, and when I inspected it by bending the joint to see what was going on towards the end of the first trip, I made the leak worse, DOH!
With the tank drained, I had a better look to see what was going on, and found the hose reducer from 1/2" to 3/8" had a crack in the middle, probably due to prolonged stress of bending on the plastic.
Replacement reducers purchased, one in plastic and one in brass, plus a roll of PTFE tape. Also 2 more like-for-like reducers via eBay from a caravan/motorhome shop as back-up.
I had to cut a short section from both pipes in order to get the broken reducer out. Hopefully, I shall not need to add more hose to join up the now slightly shortened ones. However, I know what I need to do if it is needed.
Hey ho!

Well done for sorting out yet another issue, DK.
My army dad used to call these things “built in obsolescence”, but it’s a faff when they all reach their best before date at the same time.
Might be worth carrying a roll of self amalgamating tape you can always wrap around any leaks, if they start up whilst away.Available from such places as Screwfix

All sorted now, thanks!
I replaced the plastic one with a brass version, hopefully, it will last for a while!
Got 2 plastic ones on its way to me in case the brass one does not fit.
Felt good about being able to diagnose the issue and fixed it myself without having called someone out to help me.
