I’m a bit slow, sorry. You have a Surf heater in a Nu Venture motorhome: I haven’t come across either name before.
I see there’s a forum that might possibly help with the heater if your MH handbook does not:

And a pdf with wiring - but you probably need to say what model of Surf heater you have, this is likely to be the wrong one but you can Google your model.

Though someone is sure to come along here soon with technical advice. No idea about the 12v, sorry. Might not be anything to do with the heater problem.
