Hi, I have a 2002 Ace Novella motorhome.
The cupboards above the cooker have a silver "fablon" type trim on the bottom edge. It's a sticky back paper/foil wrap over.
Unfortunately, steam, etc., has caused the trim to crack and peel, so I have removed it.
Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement roll or have ideas on how best to decorate the area? Many thanks.
Was the trim original to the MH, or might it have been added by a previous owner for whatever reason? Our cupboards over the cooker (but on a different make of MH) do not have any trim that’s different from the other cupboards. Maybe you don’t need to replace it, just clean off the stickiness? Or leave it sticky & cut a piece of the rubber roll that stops things sliding, into the shape of the bottom of the cupboard?
Hi Fiona, thanks for responding, Yes, all the cupboards have the same decorative edge fitted as standard.
I steamed it off and sanded it as smooth as possible, but it seems that its more fibre board than mdf, etc.
I tried a sealing coat of varnish which I was hoping would help it blend in with rest of wood finish, but it just makes it look worse.
I am now wondering if it may be best to paint it with a moisture and heat resistant paint.
