Hi all. Does anyone know where I can get a VW automatic gearbox fixed? Preferably East Anglia region but further afield if needs be.
I have asked around many places but no luck so far.
Suggestions welcome. Thanks
A few details on the actual vehicle (year, model, engine etc.) may help get an answer, 'Automatic Gearbox' is quite vague, as they have changed significantly over the years, with modern/current ones operating entirely differently (internally at least!) to ones from years ago.
If its a DSG you need an outfit who works on them all the time. They are well known for failing and have been doing so for over 20 years. My 2007 Audi had one which was terrible - never again.
Try VW, Audi and Skoda owners club websites as they all use the same gearbox and specialists may be recommended..
There is a good automatic transmission specialist called stephens engineering in Thundridge, just north of Ware in Hertfordshire. I have used them in the past and found them to be very good.
