Welcome to UKCS.
This water heater went out of production many years ago. We ended up (in our previous elderly Motorhome) buying & fitting a new one, different make, because the gas burner was corroded & we couldn’t replace it, always a slight smell of gas standing outside beside the vent. (Not saying that’s your problem btw. But getting parts is difficult.)
There are a number of threads about the Carver Cascade if you search the forum - but I appreciate that’s not so easy as a new arrival.
With gas, you might be safer getting a gas engineer to look at it first.

When I had serious problems with my Carver Cascade water heater I did make enquiries as to having it repaired. However, when I found out how much it was going to cost I decided to replace it with a new Propex electric water heater. I fitted this myself for approximately half what it would have cost to have the old one repaired, and I would still have had to take it out and send it away myself. Then refit it when it came back.

Assuming that there are no air locks and that the gas pressure is good and the leisure battery supply voltage is above ~11 volts, your best bet is to have it looked at by a specialist. I used Premier Tech Services on eBay, they charge £96 if it includes repairs or £30 if just to confirm it works. Assume repairs are needed. Mine was gone for 3 days, they do a very quick turnaround.

If you do go for a repair, make sure they check and/or replace the rod that runs through the centre of the water tank. This can seriously corrode inside the tank and if it gives way as mine did, the tank just splits apart spilling all its contents into the surrounding area. It makes quite a mess!

Have you checked the reset button which is under a little swing cover on the inward end of the Cascade?
