It is possible to fit a 2.5di and mt75 gearbox into a mk1 and mk2 transit. I am assuming your mk1 is a bullnose model. As for all the technical questions Billybun is your man as he has converted loads of petrol transits to diesel. I got offered a mk1 Transit Ci motorhome on sunday, it has a 2.5di fitted but I think it has an older overdrive gearbox.

I have a Mk 1 3litre with O/d box. The first V6 built by Ford  The mechs are OK (or at least were when she was laid up). I also have the WORKS shop manuals and the old hard copy Ford Trade counter parts lists.

Hi rikismk1,

as far as I know it's still for sale. It doesn't have any t&t on it, and I was offered it for £600. I don't know the guys name  who is selling it as he works on security on a campsite with one of my friends. I will try and find out for you if your mate is interested.
