I'm trying to find a reasonably priced free standing awning that I can use with my small campervan.  I am looking for something that will provide some extra sleeping space and give us a more permenant base for a longer stay in one place.

As I am a single parent with two small children I need to be able to put it up single handed whilst keeping an eye on what my children are getting up to!!  Have seen a few whilst out and about but have been unable to locate any local suppliers or find them online. 

Any suggestions would be gratefully received

VW owners seem to favour small lightweight "tent type material and poles" one. 

Not sure of any make but we talked to one dealer about free standing awnings and said most should come with free Relate telephone number as they are not easy to put up.

Try on Just Kampers website as they appear to do VW type things.

Haven't got an awning yet as most appear to bulky to store in van when on the move to sites.

You can get an awning called a JK Munich Drive away Frame awning, comes with ground sheet and removeable 2berth bedroom compartment.

Think it's about £215 which includes postage.

I'm thinking about purchasing one myself for my Romahome.

Have been looking for something for a couple of weeks and this looks about the cheapest with bedroom.

Hi, you don't say what your campervan is.  If it's a VW T4, a word of warning - most of these awnings fix to the van's gutter - but T4's don't have a gutter.  So you'd need to have a rail fitted.

I got one secondhand off this site , for my VW T25 , £ 50 + delivery, and it's great.

Have changed my mind. Just bought a Sunncamp Automate from Martins of Exeter.

A bit like a large dome tent with a 2bed compartment inside and the drive away 'tunnel' that fits to the 'van.

Was £159.95 but they only have 5 left. Wouldn't know how much they would charge for postage either though.
