I have an engine problem with my Elddis Monarch (Talbot express J5D Turbo).  I know that there is an autodata manual available but have no idea where to obtain one? Does anybody know?

Hi bombshell.

The chances of getting a decent repair manual for the Talbot express is non existent.

You can if youv'e got loadsa money, buy each section on microfish at about £150 a time. You'll need about 8 x different parts to make up the manual.

The other alternative you have is to buy a RUSSEK repair manual for about £15.00

They come in a paperback format and cover the Talbot express/Fiat ducato/ pergeot J5 boxer van which are all basicaly the same engine. While they do give most of the technical stuff, they don't guide you through like a haynes manual would. I think they are more suited to the DIY mechanic with lots of experiance. Unlike me who only looks under the bonnet when he's got trouble.

If you do a search on Google you'll find Russek's site. Make sure you order the right manual as there are 3 or 4 covering different modles of the Express.

Hope this helps.

Tom B

ps if anybody Does know of a better manual or has any info on these vans please post details

Ta

Helo bombshell & Tom

Found this from the motorbooks link above:-

Peugeot/Talbot Express (J5)
WORKSHOP MANUALS
Mercian
X 676 000117
£59.95

Looks expensive, but less than £150 x 8!

They also list the Rusec one at £13.50.  Should be fine to help with an engine problem.
