Lets have complete anarchy, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!! Might just be fun, hmmm, what could I do with my days, play X Box and post on the forum rather than earn a living, nick a few things after dark, job done!! What a fool I am - why did I bother becoming a decent citizen in this trashy country?
I think were doing something wrong snowy - going to work, paying taxes etc. You obviously get better thought of if u let others do the above and just take what u want mmmmmmmmm think may hand notice in on saturday and start a new career!!!! (NOT)!!!!!!!!!
Hey Steve, shame your guy didn't commit a speeding offence then move house - they would have issued a warrant for his arrest and driven him 450 miles to account for his actions!! Policing in the UK has gone mad, oh but of course, silly me, it is all about solving crimes and statistics now isnt it, not common sense policing. D'oh!
Perhaps we should write collectively to the secretary of state letting him know of our feelings on the subject.
I see what you mean about society as it is society that creates these problems in the way we treat youngsters as they are the adults of tomorrow! I left school in 1979 and went on to do an apprentiship in my chosen carear (motor engineer) and fealt that i had a future. Teenagers of today cant see a future as apprentiships are no longer an option, and if they are lucy enough to get a job, they are made to feel worthless due to the fact that the pay is so low ( my son and daughter both earned less than £1 an hour in their first jobs), however i was lucky enough to be able to help them into more gainfull employment through business colleagues, some people are not so lucky though. Society has always been down on teenagers, in the fifties it was teddy boys, in the sixties it was hippies, in the seventies it was skinheads and punks, today it is the hoodies. The fact is that the majority of teenagers will want to make their mark and show their individuality, it is part of growing up. If society makes them feel worthless and does not give them a glimpse of a bright future then it is creating a huge problem for itself. The kids of today are not developing social skills due to the advent of computers and playstations etc, and the fact that there are no (or very few at least) youth clubs for them to go to, so they now congregate around shops etc simply because there is nowhere else to go! I am afraid that this present society is creating its own monsters and if this is not addressed soon the future generations will be worse.
------------- I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
Hi Steve, Agree with you to a certain extent but there are things out there for young people. In my county we have "chill out buses" youth centres on wheels going to rural areas and villages. The youngsters still congregate outside the bus!!! It's a catch 22, when I was a teenager I wouldn't be seen dead in the Youth Club (to un cool) and preferred to meet at the bus shelter!!! Scouting is a fab organisation, offers so many activities to boys and girls right up to 25, but it's got such a dib dib dib image it's difficult to engage some of the hard to reach youngsters. In many continental countries there is lillte 'yob culture' maybe we should look at them and see what they are doing right. One thing I think is for sure, young and old are not being given the message by the authorities that certain behaviour is wrong. The criminal justice system is letting everybody down. A friend of mine left the police force. He said every incident required endless written reports so it got to the stage where officers "ignored" minor incidents because they were too time consuming, he didn't go into policing to ignore minor incidents! Also the crown prosecution frequently let complicated or time consuming cases off the hook, to the frustration of officers who knew the accused was as guilty as they come. You have been let down by the police etc and lots of your money and tax payers money has been wasted on a man who is clearly in the wrong. No idea what the answer is though!
EMIGRATE! Vote with your feet, leave the country to die on its feet with just the scroungers and thieves left to support it. Where will their precious benefits come from with all the decent people gone and no taxes being collected?
It won't get any better with Blair and his lying, cheating idiots at the helm. They say what they think is right one day, and renege on it the next. It is a farce. As for Mr Prescott, the hypocritical Jaguar man, well he just about sums it all up doesn't he. Useless and overpaid morons.
In my opinion Britain is now the Titanic....... sinking fast!
