On my one and only trip out in my MH so far, I bought bottled water for drinking, I wondered if any of you drink the water from the tank and if so, are there additives to put in the tank to keep the water pure.

Hi Tony,
We do not drink water from the tank. We have a water container which we fill from the stand pipes on site and have no problem this way.

Hi Tony,
Some people treat there tanks with Milton before filling. I use mine for washing extra only. Drinking beer is a good idea. People started drinking beer because it was safer than water. Much more fun.

We have always used oye water tank for brushing teeth etc with no detrimental effects to our health. You can sterilise the system with Milton or other products available. When/if you do flush plenty of fresh water through otherwise you can still taste a taint of chlorine in the water

We take cheap bottled water away with us. I know people will probably say that standpipe water is safe, but it doesn't cost much and I'd rather be in the safe side. Especially when you see people cleaning out waste at the water standpipe!------------- Paul
