Those of you who have sat nav can you tell me ! What if you don't want to use motorways or really busy dual carriageways? Can you programme it so that your journey uses A and B roads instead?

Welshlady,

You can select avoid motorways and if you want to go a particular way you can set an itinerary to follow a particular route. It will still select dual carriageways, but you can select alternative routes to avoid them.

Hope this helps, have a look at their website - not the greatest but it does show what the products can do

On ours which is a Medion MD95025 Pocket PC with Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003. Built-in GPS Navigation, you can programme it to bypass motorways etc. You can also use it on a bike or as a pedestrian which is useful if you are walking around a city like London for example. We are happy with ours and as it is fully portable you can use it in any vehicle. You just plug it into your car cigarette lighter socket. Here is a link to their website if this helps. https://www.medionshop.co.uk/ We bought ours from Halfords and I think it was a little cheaper than buying from them direct.  I don't know how this compares with the Tom Tom for quality or price but like I say we are satisfied with ours and would be quite lost (literally) without it.
