hi to every one who reads this ive bought a 1985 ford transit coach built motorhome and its petrol 2L pinto and was wondering if i could put a diesel di engine and 5 speed box  i dont know if it is a straght swap over or do i kneed wiring loom  or if i buy a scrapper with a good engine and box is it easy to do  any help on this subjet would help  cheers

Hi mate you should have no probs with the Di wiring - use the existing petrol wiring will be ok if you use an earlyer Di

You have to weigh up the amount you are using the van to see if its really worth the swap. ive just took a Di out of my MK1 there a great engine but so noisy in the mk1s and 2s not too bad in the later mk345s ones they have more soundproofing!!

I have a 2.5Di fitted to my 1979 Ci. But with the original gearbox (overdrive).
As has been mentioned, Billybun is the feller to speak to.
