Does anyone know how to stop mats walking?

We have just baught a new motorhome and as the carpet was a light colour

we decided to put down a few mats to keep it clean within an hour they had all walked down to the end of the van we replaced them but off they went again.

There must be a solution to this problem apart from nailing them down

If you go into a B&Q store, in their carpet section are non slip gismos that fit under your carpet. Its a bit like sticky underlay except it feels sticky but isent!

I think that whatever you do the mats will always walk the way the pile goes.  I've tried lots of solutions to stop the mat infront of my house door walking but nothing yet has worked.  If someone does have a solution I would be really interested

Velcro will work but each time you get your mats up to clean underneath it will pull at the pile of your carpet and in time make it go fluffy.  If, like me you try and keep cleaning to a minimum you might be OK but if you're a cleanaholic it might be best to clean with the mats in place, most of the time anyway.
