If you can chock the wheels and safely leave the handbrake off it would be very advantagous, namely it will prevent the pads sticking to the disks and secondly stop the cable being under tension all the storage period.
Whatever vehicle you use, if you can safely park for extended period by using 1st (or reserve) gear is better. Chok is better still. Never heard of depressing the clutch though, as being beneficial! Start the engine, allow to run for a minute, not high revving, then depress the clutch several times should free off the plates.
I agree depressing the clutch would put a lot of strain on the clutch release mechanism and would lead to premature failure .
I have to leave my handbrake on and chock the wheels as its parked on a slope.Ive never had any problems with sticking brakes drums or disc models but i do move the MH regularly
Im more bothered about the tyres being ruined by flattening them and being distorted out of shape, its happened once and it wont again so move them regularly just a foot will do.
