We use an image antenna, with a booster.

We have a Status omni fitted, & the image is a massive improvement over it.

The image came with 3 poles, 1 of which I cut a foot off & fastened the foot piece to the ladder with a couple of jubilee clips. The rest of the poles just slot into that piece now, for easy erection.

Use a caravan aerial that sticks to the side of the van on suckers, does a good job but on some sites a booster is needed, last few times out we didn't need the big aerial as the telescopic one on the TV gave a brill picture, better than some of the vans with the fancy built in aerials! Before getting the one we have now I used a loft aerial mounted on a clothes pole at the front of the van, was as good as the new one, only replaced it cos me son nicked the loft one for his flat!

Hi, the new Status directional aerial receives very good reports over the older omi directional 315. It comes with 2 mast sizes depending on choice and were it is to be located. For an economy option a standard wideband TV aerial and mast clamped to the A Frame will bring good results dependant on proximity to transmitter and local topography.
Regards
John

thanks wizzer650 for advise,  we also have a Status omni fitted with booster which is absolutely useless.

which model "image" did you buy?   i saw 2 types online 530/18 or the more expensive 580/18.2  i presume the second more expensive is better.?
