We are thinking of upgrading from a tent to a motorhome.  We have 3 children so need a van that can sleep 5, and has at least 5 3-point seatbelts.  After looking around, we like the Elddis Autoquest 180 as it seems to meet our needs (although it is a bit short of storage space).

What do you think of this van or Elddis more generally?

Any alternative recommendations?

Many thanks

We have an Avantegard 200 as there are only two of us. The Elddis Autoquest models are another badge of the Explorer group who make the same model under the Compass Avantegard badge. They also come in various dealer badges like the Suntor, Firestorm etc. Reading the website write up http://www.explorer-group.co.uk/2006/Compass/motorhomes/Avantgarde.html ( or click on the Autoquest logo ) it is good value for the price. Six berth with six fixed seat belts which meet your requirements. Have a very good look around and make sure you get as much as possible for what you pay. Quality of build and finish was a bit iffy with the Explorer models but I've read in MMM that they seem to have improved .

Good luck

Don

Hi

We spent nearly 2 years trying to find the perfect motorhome.  We looked at the Avantgarde models because they were so reasonably priced.  We finally decided on a SWIFT Sundance (L-shaped model as there's only the two of us and our gorgeous labrador!).  The Swift was a little bit more expensive than the Avantgarde L-shaped version but the quality of the build and a bit more storage space was worth the extra £2-3K.

Good luck with the 'hunting'!!

Thanks for the advice. We've been out today and put a deposit on a dethleff A6971.Got a good price on an x display model. Same layout, back lounge. Much more storage, and nice quality. Can't wait to get it.
