Since we purchased from new Rapido Motorhome and got Camos On the Move Satellite fitted we have had nothing but problems. Brownhills have been very unhelpful. Has anyone else had problems with: 1 - Brownhills and how did they get satisfaction and 2 - Had a Camos on the move Satellite fitted and problems. On the same site in Edinburgh one day it worked then rest of time it said it could not find satellite. Since we had vehicle satellite has only worked for about 5 days! Any help and comments would be greatly appreciated
Brownhills is great to use as a browsing place. Every make and model under one roof so you don't have to trek miles to decide what you want or need. As for buying from them, the impression I got is that the sales people are only after the commission. It's too big and like large car dealers they have to make a profit to cover their large overheads. I've only bought minor items from their accessory shop.
I would suggest you give them a call and find out who the managing director is, don't bother messing around with the plebs. Then either phone or write a letter setting out your problems and complaints plus how you expect the problem to be resolved to your satisfaction. Top dogs don't like to be bothered by that sort of nonsense so soon get something done about it.
We are on our 4th new vehicle from Brownhills since 1997 and we are still waiting for warranty work to be completed on our 2004 Hymer Starline 640. Aftersales service is very poor and does not give you a lot of confidence in their workmanship. They are only interested in selling you the new vehicle and taking the commission. Good luck to you.
We purchased our current motorhome from Brownhills Newark & have been very satisfied with the afterservice & warranty work that has been done.
We found that discussing the problems with the salesman that sold us the van & getting him to sort out the people in the aftersales dept, was the best & quickest way to get things done.
Just in negotiation for our next one from their Newcastle branch.
Not sure about CAMOS but we have a Teleco automatic system. Sometimes that doesnt work, but it turns out to be the digibox. Apparently you are not really supposed to use them except from a fixed address, so sky alter the channel settings sometimes. Mine was fitted by auto electrical of Mirfield, they have always been very good, they just talk me through re-setting the codes and it works again.
------------- we are where we are - where are we ?
We brought our Hymer from Newcastle in February and are still awaiting warrenty work to be completed I keep phoning and getting no where have spoken to everyone until I am blue in the face if I have no joy after todays call back I will be speaking to my HP company and refusing to pay anymore have learnt from ecperience that they get involved rather sharpish if you are not satisfied.
There are several threads on here and other sites regarding Brownhills most sadly are not favourable. Its the usual story of over large, commision led companies who forget its the customer who pays the wages. Wouldnt it be nice if Brownhills at least took the time to once defend themselves on a forum like this
