Hi i could do with some advice.  I have a merc sprinter van and want to have some sort of awning but don't know what to go for.  We've tried a gazebo coming off the side but as we've gone for the cheaper variety they tend to collapse at the slightest wiff of wind.  We can't afford to have a pull out awning fitted but the van is quite high so i don't know how a free standing awning would work.

Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Clareycluck. I have a Dorema Highlander II which I had professionally altered and sewn so you don't need to attach it to any rail on yout outfit. I was about to put it up for sale, It's quite tall & may suit your needs. I don't know where you are but if you're interested "ping" me an EMail to: telb at onetel.com and I'll send you a photo

a photo would be great but i had a problem emailing you.  I think the height of my van doorway is about 7 or 8 feet.  I'm based near Bath.  How much were you thinking of selling your awning for?

Actually i can see what you've done with the email address (sorry bit slow!!).  would it be easier to email you?

Hi if you haven't yet sorted out an awning - have a look at the Royal Traveller Motor Annexe.  We bought one back in February got a great price £110.00.  We have a VW camper van - and although it is lower than your Sprinter - the tunnel attachment onto the van is long enough to go up higher. In fact it's probably better to be higher - so the rain can run off.  We had to buy some rain poles to fit inside because the tunnel wasn't high engough to stand in.

Anyway I hope it would be suitable for you - we bought ours from Riversway - quick delivery too - delivered the next day!

Good Luck
