That way, you could leave all your belongings inside and zipped up if you ever leave the campsite, thus keeping them dry and reasonably safe (well, as safe as in any tent) as well as marking out your pitch.
We were at a site recently, when a motorhome owner came to ask if we had seen their chairs; they had gone out for the day and left their (expensive) chairs piled up on their pitch to 'mark' it, when they got back someone had pinched them! They were eventually discovered; in someone's tent, and the story was they had seen the motorhome drive off, leaving the chairs behind and had assumed they had left the site and dumped the chairs (which were brand new and had cost him about eighty quid each, he said)!

Loads of awnings fit Bongo's, the Navigator one sold by UKCS is a good fit. If you are a member of Bongo fury they have a whole fact sheet on awnings (I have spent many a happy hour pondering the perfect awning). The best advice I can give is it's like tents, try and narrow down what you want it for? sleeping, extra storage or perhaps as an air lock for want of a better discription (I've always worried about getting out of the Bongo in the pouring rain in the middle of the night) this should give you a better idea of what you need. Also if you've just bought your bongo see if you can hold off for a while to see how you use it i.e do you live out the side or the back door? Will you sleep in the Bongo all the time? if your not sleeping in it all the time you may be happier with a tent. Also if you get the chance, have a nosey around a few just ask first! I was forever showing the Navigator to people
We have had two different awnings for our bongo (Easy camp venice and Navigator) both were good but have sold both and gone back to a tent and outwell dayroom and pitch next to the Bongo, I guess we were tent people first and that was were we were comfortable. So I guess what I'm trying to say is it's horses for courses.
P.s must be the longest post I've evet written (hope it makes sense) I've spent the last year driving OH nuts on the subject, just don't mention the word awning to him!
Hi, talk to AVA Leisure 0870 757 2277 Bongo specialists. They will help. They sell the Khyam Motordome Classic which is just about perfect for a bongo, it's not the cheapest but it's certainly the quickest to erect, best awning in bad weather and can be used on it's own as a gazebo or tent.
Hi, I have a Sunncamp Cruiser awning on my Bongo. Tis enormous and comes with groundsheets, bedroom and add on sun canopy. Bought it at Outdoor Focus, Horbury, Wakefield.
