Hi all

Just about to buy my fourth 'van and aim to spend a lot of time over in France in the next few years. Anyone know a good insurance company, preferably one which will cover a small trailer and a generator on the same policy. I am knocking on a bit!

Hi Gillygangle, welcome to the mad house as you,( knocking on a bit), I found the best deal with SAGA, ( some folk on here have had probs with them, but Ive no complaints at all)beat a lot of other quotes by far, inc breakdown cover, & travelling abroad. Anyway, doesnt hurt to ring around for a few more quotes & pitch one against the other..
               Nick.

Hi all

Insurance - still waiting for responses from a couple of coys.  Have a bit of previous in respect of car claims and sp30s.  Turned down flat by Caravan Guard; Saga quote was £495.41.   A couple of others suggested premiums in the range of £600 - £800 or more - not sure whether they took into account 75% NCD (have protected no claims cover).

Campton ('van presently covered by them) quoted £213 initially but I am waiting to get written confirmation but my car insurers Frizzell (Liverpool Victoria) have quoted £228.  I remembered I had one of my previous vans insured with them.  So, I shall probably stick with Frizzell. First used Frizzell many moons ago via CSMA membership.  Not sure some of these specialised motohome insurers are that special.

Oh, and other coys were twittering about limited continental cover whereas the guy at Liv Vic says no green card, policy document enough for France etc, no limit on stay?

Campton 01883742420

Liverpool Victoria 08456097191

Regards

David

Depends how confident and also how self sufficient you are. You need of course to be pretty well organised.  Best advice I can give is to trawl through this and other MH/caravanning sites and benefit from other peoples experience.

Once you have done that come back to the sites(s) with any specific questions and I am sure you will get all the good advice you need.
