I've found myself to be interested in this concept but less so the base vehicles I have seen them generally attached to. The vehicles in question are usually 1000cc mini pickup types but going on the Bambi performance (25 mpg and 55mph max) this does not excite me. I recently saw a Citreon Dispatch pickup, 1900 diesel I believe, for sale. Would this have made a suitable donor vehicle for a Romahome body? If not what are the alternatives, are all pickups suitable or do they have to be adapted or adaptable? Initially I would purchase a 1000cc type until I needed a replacement and then look to upgrade.
Hi. our first m/home was a romahome on a bedford rascal 998cc pickup,it took us the length& breadth of the country with no trouble at all and was very comfy indeed,if you are interested in de/mounts there are a couple of companies in the rochdale area that make them, dont know the names but you will find them in the mmm magazine index..royell. good luck in your search.
It might be worth asking the Romahome manufacturer about suitable vehicles as I know there have been some concerns over what type of base vehicle some Romhome bodies have been put on.

Thanks for the replies shall enquire at the manufactures. Another thing has struck me as the base vehicles are pickups are these then classed as commercial vehicles? I suspect somehow not, if that is the case what is their status?

Sorry can't help with that question.
