Sorry to go on about this, but i thought someone would have had a transit based motorhome , or are they a bad buy? If they are, has anyone got other recommendations in the £8000 to £12000 range.
Autosleeper and Herald both used to offer the special Transit motorhome chassis which was a good one, with a lower platform than usual and a leisure battery fitted under the bonnet.
I think they also used 225 section tyres when Fiats were still on 185s.
They were expensive so not many convertors used them, although some of the European ones did offer the twin rear wheel chassis.
We had a ford transit Duetto a conversion by autosleepers. it was wonderful only sold due to ill health. It could have done with a turbo diesel engine though.
would recommend it.
I understand they are about £34,000 when new. We boutght privately second hand and paid a lot less than that of course. We sold it for what we paid for it a year later.
