We don’t know how lucky we are to have the jobs we have.
I had a fella decorating our house for the last three days, I got chatting to him and it turns out he is a laid off Ryanair pilot , he is decorating now to try and pay his mortgage.
Sad times but in fairness he did a great job on the landing.

some days you are the tree.
I worked throughout lockdown as an essential worker looking after supply chain logistics of medicinal products, and counted my blessings everyday as I knew I was in a much better position compared with a lot of people.

We got chatting to a guy who was doing some gardening for our neighbour last summer. Turns out he was a driving instructor and covid basically ended any chance of work for him so he just has to use whatever skills he had to try and get by. He said he had always enjoyed gardening for himself so he started to advertise his services as a garden handyman and was being kept very busy.
We saw him again at the same neighbours house last week and he was valeting her camper van so he must have diversified.
