After hiring a succession of tipi's, yurts and camper vans, I've finally persuaded DH to buy a tent. It only took me 10 years!
So hopefully this week we'll be taking delivery of a new Soulpad 5m ZIG. We already have a heap of stuff in the garage to go with it so we're hoping it's not going to be a wet bank holiday weekend!
I am sooo jealous looking to buy a bell tent myself though prob the karma one as it has fly screen doors. I sure DH will love it when the BBQ is going and he's got a beer in hand :) Have fun

Don't know whereabouts in Suffolk you are but I'll be down that way myself in a couple of weeks. I'm actually staying just north of Yarmouth but I have friends in Lowestoft, Beccles and Bungay so I'll be visiting them at some point.
I'm sure your hubby will like camping once he gets into the swing of it - and if he doesn't then you can always leave him behind next time! lol

We're just outside Bury St Edmunds. About half an hour from Bungay Tigermouse. We're supposed to be moving to Norfolk (assuming we ever manage to sell the house) and I'll miss Suffolk.
Still, there's some nice beaches in Norfolk too!
I think DH is concerned about the trail of parcels making their way to our house. I do so love internet shopping!

Well it's only over the border Tbh I can never tell where Norfolk ends and Suffolk begins - I've been holidaying down that way for 30 years and if it wasn't for the road signs I wouldn't know one from the other.
I went to Holkham beach in north Norfolk last year, first time I'd ever been and I was well impressed, it's fabulous. I've not been to many Suffolk beaches though - Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Lowestoft and Aldeburgh are the only ones, and I wasn't impressed with Aldeburgh, either the beach or the town, so I wouldn't go back there. Went to Walberswick last year, and though I'd been there before with my now-ex I'd never seen the beach so when I discovered it for myself last year I was very pleasantly surprised. I plane to go back in a couple of weeks time while I'm down that way, that's if the weather's nice.

Now that's interesting as we quite like Aldeburgh. Admittedly it's not the sort of beach where you want to spend the day, unless you're heavily into pebbles and the town has an upmarket sniffy air to it but they have a fab little model boat pool down past the Lifeboat station which the kids love. Costs me a fortune in model boats every year! Plus the best fish and chips are to be had in Aldeburgh and they're best eaten sitting on the wall by the beach, at the far end looking at the Martello Tower.
Southwold is always packed but the kids like the beach. I abseiled down that lighthouse last summer. (Strange random fact!) Dunwich we visited last weekend but we've never been to Walberswick. Will have to investigate now!
I think our favourite beach in Norfolk is Brancaster, we even went their Boxing Day. Only downside is the people who think they don't have to clear up after their dog as its a beach and was winter.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
