We had rain today, and sleet, hail, thunder and lightning.

What we haven't had for most of the day is electricity, due to the lightning taking out a pole carrying the power lines.

Still, I didn't end up in the river, unlike one person who had to be rescued after driving round the Road Closed sign and getting washed away. They never learn.

Isn't that very much the nature of the UK climate? The main distinction between seasons is the varying amount of rain, not really its absence.
