It's Now One year on since I had my C.A.B.G =Coronary Artery Bypass Graft .
known as a Triple Heart Operation
The Operation was Carried out at The Heart and Stroke Unit At
Wythenshawe Hospital , Manchester
By the Brilliant Surgeons ,Doctors ,Nurses
Fantastic NHS staff
They Saved my life ,and Gave me a Second Chance
As over a Few Years Ago
I was Diagnosed with Angina
Which Restricted me Exercising .
Ie . Walking up Steep hills , Inclines and I got Slower and Slower Cycling .
And I gave up Swimming in the Sea
As I got out of Breath easily .
So the Operation entailed
Haveing Three Diseased Defective Arteries
Upto my Heart Taken out
And A good long Artierie Was grafted from my left leg to replace all .
So after been Heavily Sedated over Eight hours on the Operating Theatre , I was lucky I did not Know anything About It
Until I Came Round In the Recovery Room
Attended by the Doctors and Nurses checking me out
My First words where .
" Phew that was a close one "
So here I am Alive and well .

It's good to see that - don't be disheartened if statistics don't look good after 10 years - the medical profession often doesn't look beyond 10 years.

Over 8 years ago I suffered multiple organ failure, including heart failure, had to be resuscitated in A&E and was only given 50:50 on living 6 months - I'm now doing what I'm told by doctors.

Well done Zigzag! Eight hours is a long operation. But life is for living, and thank you for reminding us not to take it for granted.

Part of my recovery programme
I was given a twelve week Recouperation Gym work out at Wythenshawe Hospital .
To get fit after my operation .
After all the gym work
It was very good,
I started to do Short cycles and walks .
But felt very Tired Lethargic Jaded .
My Doctor Did a Blood Test
And Found I was Anemic
So I put on An Iron tablet Supplement
After some months I felt better ,Not as tired
Although even Now I don't have the enthusiasm or energy for longer Walks or Cycles .
I just Take It Day by Day
And be Thankful I'm fairly well as can be
After all What I've Been Through .
