I don’t know if you would class my porridge as creamy but we like it. I buy Flahavans porridge oats (the ordinary size, not the jumbo oats)Like this
The ratio of porridge to liquid that I use is 1:3. Sometimes I will use 1 scoop of porridge to 3 scoops of water (not creamy) and other times I will replace 1, 2 or even all 3 scoops of water with milk. The more milk, the more creamy. I also add a pinch of salt. It doesn’t make it taste salty, it just enhances the flavour. I bring it to the boil and simmer for about 1 minute stirring continuously and then I put the lid on the saucepan, turn off the heat and leave it for about 10 minutes. I then give it a good stir and turn the heat back on, stirring continuously until it comes back to the boil at which point it is done.
Sometimes I take porridge to work with me for lunch. Before I leave the house, I put the 1 scoop of porridge, a pinch of salt and 2 scoop's of boiling water in a large mug with a lid and give it a brief stir. I put on the lid and take it to work. Several hours later at lunch time I take the lid off and stir the contents. It will be very thick, almost solid. I then add a scoop of milk, stir again and microwave until hot.
Both methods end up with porridge that I like. I think the more you stir it, the more the starches in the oats break down and it feels more creamy. Also, using whole milk instead of semi skimmed or skimmed will make it more creamy.

We make ours in a pan, for 2.
1 measure oats
2 measures water. Some people use milk.
season to taste
Bring to boil then reduce to simmer until thickened. Stir as much as possible during cooking.
It took trial and error to get measures right for us.
Different oats give different results.
Oats should be soaked overnight to reduce the Phytic Acid, otherwise this inhibits the absorption of Iron and Zinc leading to mineral deficiency.
I use 100g oats, 250g sweetened soya milk and 250g skimmed longlife milk - soaked overnight and then 3mins 30 secs in an 800w microwave - we have the same microwave in caravan as at home.
If I can be bothered and want it creamy I cook it like a risotto, but with warmed milked or milk and water mix. Start with one measure of oats and 2 measures of warmed liquid, simmer and stir constantly - I stir with the handle of a wooden spoon.
As it thickens add more warm liquid and continue for 15-20 minutes just adding the warm water and milk until it is creamy.
As this takes time my usual approach is one measure oats, 2 measures milk and microwave it for about 2 minutes!
I never use water, but our milk is semi skimmed not full fat. A pinch of salt during cooking is to your taste: personally, I don’t like even a hint of salt (except on boiled eggs, but that was a boarding school way). Microwaved after an overnight soak makes for much easier washing up. My dad used to eat his porridge straight out of the Pyrex microwave dish.
I eat my porridge with some added milk (or cream if there’s any…) plus my own runny honey. For an absolute birthday treat, a tot of whisky swirled in: blended is fine, no need for Balvenie or Edradour.
It’s been minus 5 overnight for the past 2 nights away jn the MH: some porridge in the morning would have been lovely!
One of those special porridge stick should help apparently.
I cheat by opening a tub, add boiling water, let it sit for a while, then add a dash of double cream and something if required like honey or maple syrup before eating.
Not a porridge fan, prefer toasts, crumpets, croissants and tea cakes etc...
Quite like Ready brek and I would carry that in the van for the colder months as it is nice to have something warm first thing in the morning even before I open the door to let the dog out. Again, add hot water, let it sit for a while, add double cream and something sweet like honey or maple syrup.

The trouble with the ready pots is that they are far too sweet for me and there's no salt in so they just taste sweet and bland to me. The least sweet that I've found is Tescos own.
We add a tiny measured amount of salt and sweetener to our pan, scarcely tasteable but enhance the taste of the oats.
