Hi
when i wash my 85% Acrylic / 15% Wool and 100% cotton jumpers i always wash on the synthetic cycle and at 40c.
Then when finished i stretch the jumpers gently by the arms and then the body of the jumpers.
Then put on the maiden or washing line to dry.
But i have noticed some of the jumpers are a bit baggy.
Now i am certain it said to stretch the jumpers somewhere in the wash instructions.
Some say to dry flat, I did one of mine yesterday so I put it on the shelf in the airing cupboard after gently shaping it. It looks OK, if it's baggy I can live with it.

Hi
Thanks for the replies.
It would seem I have been stretching the jumpers correctly but maybe a little to much.
I will be a little more gentle from now on.
Thanks again
Another vote for dry flat (after easing it into shape). The weight of the wet material working with gravity undoes your shaping work. And acrylic doesn’t need it: it doesn’t shrink like wool & stretching it might be making it baggy. I’d also say 40deg is too hot for wool, 30deg is better.
You can get a gadget which is a collapsible frame with a net that you lay the garment flat on. Alternatively, I fold them in half lengthwise & lie them lengthwise along a double radiator with the arms hanging down.
I don’t stretch 100% cotton jumpers as cotton tends to sag a bit anyway. A synthetic and wool mix shouldn’t need too much reshaping but I find that 100% wool is the most likely to shrink and needs a lot of reshaping after a very gentle cool wash!
