So annoying in that the habitation check on my van was booked months in advance last April, for it to be postponed by about a month due to supply issue with the leisure batteries.
The supplier gave them to someone else by mistake, they are on backorder, and the person who took them refused to return them.
Replacement batteries are out on delivery to the mobile engineer, however there was no way to know when they will be delivered.
If it is late in the day, then it might not be sufficient time to do it all as the water pump needs to be replaced too.
Doesn't look like I would be able to go out in March at this rate for a short trip, hey ho!

Frustrating for you, DK. But don’t give up your plans for a short trip?
We got our leisure battery from a local supplier as our mechanic has a MH of his own & advises us where to get it. You’ll know yourself there are threads on here that might help.
The water pump is a problem - but maybe you could go away and use a container for fresh water? A friend went round Spain for months that way, in an old VW camper that doesn’t have a water tank. Boil a kettle for the washing up or use the site pot wash.
Please don’t give up on your plans… you plan so far ahead, it would be a pity. The dog would miss out too…

Go camping without batteries then.
Can probably do that on EHU.
However, I do not wish to go out without a working water pump.

I managed without a working water pump in the van for 9 days over the festive period in December 2025 by using the site's facilities most of the time; however, I would not wish to do that again - no flushing toilet was PITA.
The only weekend available to go out in March 2026 is now taken up by the habitation check.

How disappointing for you - especially when caused by someone else's actions (I was going to say incompetence, but thought that might be a bit strong )
Batteries shouldn't be any problem, unless something very odd!
Tanya and Alpha Batteries both do quality batteries at generally competitive prices with next day delivery. Would say I'd go with Alpha as my 1st choice, Ordered caravan battery from Tanya but they used a rubbish courier (Yodal) who caused me much grief (and others have similar tales to tell!) whereby I had to return the damaged in transit battery and get a refund. Alpha both packaged better and used a better courier, delivered trouble free!
No flushing loo is indeed a PITA but we managed for 2 years without a flush by using a jug of water or a water bottle with the drinking cap on top. But our sink taps have a different pump than the toilet: sounds like you have one tank & pump that delivers to the taps & the toilet flush.
Anyway, all hypothetical now because your Hab Service is booked for when you were due to go away.
If your serviceman wants to supply your batteries then he is probably putting on a big markup. I take it you want AGM batteries ? They are best for off grid. If your current batteries are the cheaper flooded type then that will probably be why they have given up the ghost. Tayna have AGM batteries for about £140 upwards including delivery. If your water pump is submersible type then most of them are Comet brand about £18 & an easy replacement. What you describe is an easy fix. How much to you want to go camping ?
We never use the toilet flush in our van. Instead we use a bike drinks bottle we can squirt as needed backed up by Thetford Aqua Rinse spray. We find it conserves on water We never use the pump at all in winter as we can't be bothered with repeated drain downs. We always use plastic container for drinking water & take extra wster in winter for washing & dishes.
I managed by using a squirty bottle at night when I did not fancy walking to the facilities block, however, it was not ideal.
Tanya is where the mobile engineer is getting the batteries and they fecked up with his order by giving them to someone who did not order them.
No mark up as far as I am aware, he does not even want payment in advance for the batteries and the water pump.
No big deal not being able to go out in March 2026 as there is only a small window of opportunity that I can go away which is now taken up by the habitation check.
Although it will be fine with EHU, the van is not ready as I have planned to carry out deep clean etc. after the habitation check in case it is messy.
I might start getting her ready in the next 3 weeks as there are things that I can do like deep cleaning the fridge freezer, laundry etc...
Just a bit miffed that an appointment booked so far ahead could not take place due to no fault of my own, hey ho!

I’m sorry that your plans got messed up, I’m sure that must have been frustrating! Our window of opportunity to get away before Easter was the weekend just over, as I was off last Thursday and Friday, but the weather was so bad that we decided to stay at home.
Easter won’t be long coming around. It was lovely to see some snowdrops a few days ago and to feel that the end of winter is in sight. If only it would stop raining!
We never normally go anywhere at this time of year. If we did it would probably be to somewhere like the Canary Islands as I have never liked the cold and wet that is inevitable in this country. Our finances are still recovering from Christmas anyway.
We were hoping to go to Copenhagen in a couple of months time but at the moment I'm wondering if I will still be able to go as I'm suffering a few health issues at the moment. If we do manage to get away that will be our first time away this year.

It's not raining here (yet). If the Met Office is to be believed, we may have good weather in the SE w/ c 8/3 when we hope to get away.
Excellent. We heading down to Essex that weekend (family) before heading west for a few weeks in Wales.
