Close to where I live we have a big shopping / leisure complex called Trago Mills.
Today 13/07/2022 the price of a litre of diesel is £1.81 ( which is still mega expensive) but 2 miles away Tesco is £1.96 and all other garages still charging £1.99 ( super mega expensive! ) my beef is if Trago can sell at this price then all the others can too , they are blatantly ripping us off.

In my part of the world (NW London), Tesco has not been the cheapest for decades, not the most expensive, but significantly undercut by other supermarkets and even a few branded filling stations!

When they first opened as one of the first superstores they undercut all the other filling stations in the area, as the other's closed down over the years and Tesco became one of the few left in the area, they bumped up prices to take advantage of their shoppers, and they've never been competitive since! You can easily save 4/5/6p per litre by buying elsewhere, and that's not a new situation.

Brotherin law queued up at Trago (I think Sunday?) then they ran out of fuel before he got to the front. He has a business so he was probably busy running his business from his van while queuing so it wasnt particularly time wasted.

For most of us, if we need fuel, simplest thing to do is chuck a tenner in if it gets low then fill up somewhere cheaper as you are driving past. My time is too valuable to drive miles (using fuel) and queue up to get cheap fuel. I guess if I had nothing else to do I suppose I could treat it as a day out but even a jigsaw puzzle would be a better use of my time.

I suspect Trago has cheap fuel to entice customers to come in & spend what they’ve saved in the shops.
Certainly what’s noticeable my way is the branded fuel (BP, Esso, Jet) is all several p cheaper than the local supermarkets. It used to be the other way round. And strangely, we’re also cheaper than Yorkshire (family visit recently), again unheard of before.
Up in Scotland, all our fuel - whatever is written on the pump - comes from the refinery at Grangemouth. (Or so I’ve read, but I can’t quote a reference.)

I dont particulary want to live in Venezuela, But one of the benefits of living there, Is that they do not have any fuel tax duties or levies like we have in the UK. The cost of a litre of diesel or petrol in Venezuela is 2 pence, Thats correct 2 pence.
The cost to fill up a vauxhall Corsa in Venezuela 80 pence cost of a fill up in the UK approx £80

Having been there, I certainly would not want to live there, even for cheap petrol or diesel.

Good thing was though beer was cheaper than bottled water.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
