Bought a sim free Blackview, not sure if it was a good idea. Does anyone know for sure which sim I need, and is it easy to open the phone, or should I take it to a shop? Can't transfer data from my old phone either, probably because it's really old. Any ideas please?

If you think your phone is old, mine was made when data was only kept in filing cabinets. It still works perfectly as a phone, but I'm thinking of having it valued on the Antiques Road Show.
I have a Blackview mobile phone, the waterproof armoured version.
Your old phone probably has a full size SIM card the new Blackview will want either a mini or micro SIM card. You need to contact your current SIM card supplier and ask them for a new SIM card capable of being cut down to a micro or mini size. SIM cards are now made with press outs for all sizes, you just push out with a thumb. The new SIM card should be free of charge and have your phone number installed.
If you own a USB SIM card reader you can plug it into your computer and load all your contacts onto the computer. Otherwise sit down with a notebook and copy out all your contacts and phone numbers to reload onto your new phone.
There is a way of doing this directly between 2 phones via Bluetooth but your old phone might not want to co operate.
Your new Blackview phone may well have Dual SIM, you can fit 2 SIM cards into it and it will pretend to be 2 different phones in one handset. Now is a good time to go through all the mobile phone SIM only special deals to get a cheaper line. They may even offer to transfer your existing number to a new supplier.
Although my Blackview is almost indestructible I have still put it in a gel cover and add a toughened glass screen protector.
Thanks, I took it to Lyca Mobile and the helpful man there put the SIM card from my old phone into this one. It works, obviously but I am having trouble trying to import photos.
Probably the simplest way to deal with photos is to use something like Google Photos. Ensure all photos are backed up to the app on the old phone and then you can access them on the new phone simply by logging into your Google account. Then choose to download them to the new phone or just leave them on Google where you can continue to access them from any phone or laptop/pc. Other similar apps exist from Amazon, Dropbox and probably loads more!
