I have a 2015 Sorento, boot is stuck shut.I can open it if I climb in the boot, using manual release lever. When I close the boot it sticks again.
It is not auto close.
I am in France on hols.
Any ideas please?
There will probably be a solenoid that operates with the central locking, could be it.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Could be a fuse but I would have thought the tailgate would not have its own unless its powered. The handbook will give the function and location of the fuses.
If you open it manually remove the trim panel carefully there may be some screws and pop fasteners. You should be able to see the solenoid, check that a connector hasn't come off. Maybe a squirt of WD40 on it may free it if it's stuck.
------------- DS-There's more to life than football!!!
For cars without an upper tailgate window, i guess you would have to pop the panel off the tailgate from inside to get at the actuator. Though not sure whether this can be done without the tail being opened? (could you get at all the fixings??)Handy to know anyway.
Where are you in France?
Most of the Kia dealerships are around Paris but there is one near Tours.
Tours isn't far from Angers, the campsite there has a beautiful lake nearby and there are red squirrels running around the pitches.
Good luck.
Thanks for the comments, I have put the back seats down an we can access most things via the rear doors. On our way north now so will manage til we get home.
