We have white cabinets, dark grey faux marble worktops, and dark grey slate effect flooring. White walls and red accents, stainless steel sink. But we are very conservative in our taste.
White cabinets and black granite worktop with a pattern; stainless steel sinks, hobs, extractor fan, oven and splashback; chrome mixer tap.
Tiles around the kitchen are grey with a slight pattern.
Floor tiles are grey ceramic.
I love monochrome as in black, grey, white, glass, white metals such as stainless steel and chrome.
Still very pleased with my kitchen that I designed and had it installed since 2006.

I have decided on a light grey gloss kitchen and a dark marble effect worktops because as Bernie47 and Fiona W said don't forget the hob,
So in order for the hob and sink not to standout i have chosen either S63013 TRASIMENO BASALT MS or S63028 NERO PORTORO XM which is darker than the 1st one.

The sink will be either https://www.toolstation.com/franke-basis-reversible-fragranite-kitchen-sink-drainer/p55656
or https://www.toolstation.com/franke-titan-reversible-composite-kitchen-sink-drainer/p99727
But i am concerned on the later compostion so i have emailed Franke to find out what the difference is.
Once again thank you everyone and i am still open to ideas and suggestions.
Our splashback below the wall cupboards is the same as our counter top. But our hob is below the window (no curtains, obviously, deep shelf), so it doesn’t have a splashback.
IMHO, stainless steel sink is a must as it is low maintenance and long lasting - that's what the sinks in factories for pharmaceutical and food manufacturing are made of.

I have now decided on a Stainless steel sink but would like a brushed/satin SS sink
I have found this after a quick search and would like other ideas and thoughts please as i am not sure on what to look for as the Franke ss sinks seem to have rubbish reviews
I had an old stainless steel sink that was at least 30 years old when taken out. My new kitchen has a stainless steel sink too, but already it is showing scratches - such inferior quality compared to the old one. Go for the best quality steel you can! I haven't entered into the colour discussions because my kitchen has cream units, driftwood plank-type vinyl flooring, mottled mud/sand brown worktops and dusky blue walls - I don't think in terms of greys!
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!

It's not for me for the following reasons based on my personal experience and preference:
a) I cannot see any drainage groves and have concerns about the drainage side collecting water that could become stagnant and a contamination risk;
b) It only has 1 sink, and I prefer 1.5 sink for the small one for e.g. rinsing vegetables and handwashing etc...
For an extra 10cm or so in width, I would choose this one as an example:

Ooo I like that sink you have posted
Mine was just a quick search through and plumb world came up 1st 😹
I can see I have lots more research to do.
Thanks everyone
In addition to designing the kitchen for my van, I had also designed 5 other kitchens for various properties (a flat, 2 houses and a canal boat).
I love designing kitchens as I love to cook and how to cook is very important to me.
It's another obsession!
