My husband is a huge Liverpool fan and it was definitely edge of the seat time last night during that penalty shootout. This was in Wembley but I love it when there is a really big match at Anfield as although we live a few miles from the stadium (and traffic is a nightmare on match days), if the wind is in the right direction you can hear them singing ‘you’ll never walk alone’ from our back garden and occasionally, if there is an important goal scored you hear the cheer from inside the house. It was funny a few years ago in one of the latter stages of the champions league, the televised broadcast was about 20 seconds behind the live match and we knew there was going to be a goal on the TV before it was scored as we heard the celebrations from the stadium.
