Did anybody watch last nights Top Gear where the prats gave road tests, cross country tests and set up displays on the gear along with electric cars?
It was on my tele but I ignored their stupidity and carried on with my Sudoku.
The teardrop / micro vans and the inflatable T/T looked good, butat £20k it should have.
------------- Some days you are the dog,
some days you are the tree.
We watch it for the comedy value, couldn't afford the type of cars that they're "advertising" anyway. Who needs 400 HP in a car? Some H.G.V.s don't have that amount of power!
I need affordable travel and camping equipment that keeps me warm dry and comfortable
and yes I would have sat on my camping chair with a brew and watched them from afar on the site
------------- Yesterday is already a dream and tomorrow is only a vision, but today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
I did try to watch it a few years ago. After it had been recommended to me.
I think I managed about five minuets of it before turning it off, and have never watched it again, It seemed like frivolous nonsense that was painful to look at.
Anyone who attempts to take TG seriously - now or with Clarksons crew, are approaching from the wrong angle. Try and get credible info from it, and you are wasting your time. Watch it purely as entertainment, and its brilliant.
Everyone to their own but with Clarkson and co I thought it was puerile entertainment, grown men acting like children!
The latest series seems to be just as bad.

I agree, it is just a fun programme, but it was interesting to see just how much towing even those small trailers affected the EV's range. None of them managed the 100 mile journey with their trailers. I know they didn't have completely fully charged batteries, but it was still surprising how little range they had. Also, what happens when you run out of charge completely, you can't just ring a breakdown service to bring a couple of gallons of fuel to get you to the next fuel station and as far as I know, no 4WD EV can be towed for any more than few metres.
The RAC have EV chargers fitted in their breakdown vehicles which will give a limited charge and are working on a larger version to increase the amount. They also have some larger vehicles that can load an EV or 4x4.
The AA have developed a "Freewheel hub" that they can fit to the existing wheels to allow EVs and 4x4s to be towed.

Agreed. Though, curiously, I did enjoy Clarkson's Farm 🚜.
It's entertainment, I find football puerile, 22 men kicking a ball about and acting like spoilt children at times!
Each to their own.
I am surprised that BEVs don't have some form of disconnect to enable them to be towed.
