What do you need to photo shop someone sat down in thepicture of others sat down.
Will a picture will a photo of the person stood be ok or do they have to be sat down so you can photo shop them?
What software do i need to photoshop?
Have a look at PixlR.com for easy online editing. Take any photos against a plain contrasting background to make it easier to copy/cut/paste.
Have a look on youtube for tutorials.
PixlR is the right price, but BIG outlays for Photo editing software.

I have a Coral Paint shop Pro that came with a laptop Windows vista maybe.
Hopefully it will run on windows 10.
I have Paint Shop Pro 7 that came out in 2000 - and it still works perfectly on Windows 10. On installation, it merely states that it will run in compatibility mode - and then just carries on working!

Photoshop is not easy to use, youre probably looking at layers and masks to isolate one head from one layer and place it on another layer.
Also, in answer to your other initial question (do they need to be seated, etc) they at least need to be near enough the same size and most importantly facing the same direction otherwise it will not look plausible.
A few other things :
1/ Just because its a charity doesnt mean they havent got software or a budget for software, maybe check that ?
2/ Gimp (yes, its called gimp) is free software that has more or less the same functionality as Photoshop.
3/ This is the important one .... just because its a charity and its for social media doesnt remove you from law - be sure your software licence allows you to create for that purpose and also be sure the photos you are using arent under copyright.

It is a charity I help with and promote on Social media etc.
Copyright isn't an issue but I didn't know about the software license bit.
The Coral Paint shop Pro photo X1 is a trail version so unsure if it has photo shop so I've emailed Coral and asked the question.
