Well here we are five days before Christmas And just my flaming luck I’ve got Covid, I’ve worked right from the start of this pandemic all the way through and managed to dodge it.
and come my favourite time of the year & I’m going to miss it all typical.
It’s even my grandsons 2nd birthday on Christmas Day so I’ll also miss that.
It is only one Christmas though I know some families won’t get that opportunity

Rotten luck indeed. As you’re vaccinated & boosted, we’ll keep all our fingers crossed for a mild dose & a very speedy recovery. We’re advised up here to avoid gatherings with more than 3 households, and many families have been rethinking Christmas time plans even if they’ve tested negative.
I like the 12th night party idea, or maybe the later Candlemas on 2 Feb - that’s 40 days after Christmas.
Anyway, get well soon.
Cheers thanks guys, I actually had my booster last Wednesday so I don’t think it will be working yet.
I don’t feel too bad at the moment just got a throbbing headache and feel full of flu and I’m aching all over outside of that I’ve got too bad.
I do have asthma as well so I’m hoping it doesn’t end up going on my chest
I don’t know why but I always seem to be susceptible to get in flu or cold at Christmas time I never really expected to catch Covid though as I have been following the guidelines quite strictly
Sorry to hear this Bessie, that's rotten luck I hope it's mild and that you recover soon. I like the idea of 12th night celebrations (and I'm sure your grandson would be delighted to have another birthday)! Take care.

Very sorry to hear that, Bessie. Hope it will not be too bad.
For me, Christmas has always been the time when I get a dose of flu. In the days when i had to work for a living, I used to look forward to the long Christmas break. What happened? I would spend most of the time fighting off the flu.
Looks like you were the same as me ancient uncle, I usually suck on jakemans from November onwards just to keep thinks at bay.
I think it’s because you are run off your feet right up to Christmas then it stops
I'm also hacked orf as I booked our first Xmas away for 55 years and I'm suffering from a streaming cold and a high temperature. NOT covid - 2 clear tests, but bad enough for me to cancel....
Ho hummm. Merry Christmas to all.
------------- Some days you are the dog,
some days you are the tree.
Cheers thanks guys, sorry to hear about your ruined holiday plans bridgelayer.
Billy Good to hear you survived Covid last year. I’ve had 3 jabs & my flu one so should be ok

Our daughter in South Africa had identical symptoms took about 10 days to recover and get the all clear, but a week later she still feels not herself. Wish you a speedy recovery.
