Is there a REALLY simple way to do this? OH is very impressed by our neighbour's usb. Just realised that I have a SanDisk so assume this would work? All this copy and paste info is frying my brain. Might have to ask neighbour to do it for me, but I would like to be able to do it.

Quite simple actually. I simply copied and pasted to the flash drive / USB stick and sue it in the car. Saves carrying around a pile of CDS as can get over 1500 songs on the drive and it is not a very big one. If using it in a car or elsewhere you need to check that it can accept a large GB USB stick.

Put all the music in one folder on the PC.
Click on the folder and drag it to the USB stick icon on the pc. The computer will do the rest.

To drag: move the cursor over the folder on screen. Hold down the left button on the mouse with your first finger. Keep holding it down & slide the cursor to the flash drive icon (you’ll have plugged it in, goes without saying). Then lift your finger. If it’s a big file, a box will come on screen showing the move happening. If it’s a small folder, it’ll have moved. You can open the flash drive to check.
Alternatively: right click onto the folder with your middle finger, click on copy with your left finger (if you want to keep a copy) or cut (if you don’t). Lift your finger. Move the cursor to the pen drive & right click, paste.
Or - borrow a teenager.
PS Don’t just remove the pen drive; it’s best practice to click on its icon & click “remove” first.

Whilst dragging it keep ctrl pressed on the keyboard so that you are copying it, otherwise you will remove the original from your computer.

I do this all the time. Being quite old my car doesn't have the inbuilt facility to play USBs, but I have a little gadget that does it for me. It plugs into the cigarette lighter socket and the USB plugs into the top of it. It is in fact a small transmitter, so I just tune the car radio into the frequency displayed on the gadget and bingo! The radio plays the USB. It works very well and the sound quality is superb. You can adjust the gadget's frequency to one no local station is using too so you don't get interference.

Left click once on the folder and it will be highlighted and move the mouse to the destination ( USB stick). The folder will be pulled over to it.

If you don't like the touch pad method why not buy a USB mouse, probably only cost a few pounds. You should just be able to plug it in to the computer which should then find the appropriate driver so it should be relatively straightforward. Don't forget also that music can be downloaded in different formats and you need to know that the car can play all the popular formats.
